*A 63-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Sunday night.
Donal Colgan from Killarney Court, Killarney Street in Dublin appeared before Dublin District Court this afternoon.
He was remanded in custody until next Tuesday to appear again before Cloverhill District Court.
The court was told Mr Colgan made no reply when charged.
Judge Deirdre Gearty directed Mr Colgan receive any medical attention he requires and a request for legal aid was also granted.
David Sheridan, 45, passed away at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital yesterday after sustaining a number of stab wounds on Sunday night.
Investigating Gardaí arrested the 63-year-old this morning. He is being held at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information, or who may have been at North Strand between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on Sunday night to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
*The 45-year-old man who was stabbed on the North Strand last night was pronounced dead at the Mater University Hospital today.
It is understood that a row broke out between two men inside a fast-food outlet and that one of them armed himself with a large knife.
It is reported that the victim went into cardiac arrest on his way to hospital.

The Dublin Fire Service said the man received multiple stab wounds to the front and back of his body.
The 45-year-old man was taken to the Mater Hospital but died there this morning.

------------A man has died after being repeatedly stabbed during an incident in Dublin's north inner city, gardai have said.
The 45-year-old victim had been fighting for his life in hospital since the attack on the North Strand at around 10.45pm last night.
He was being treated at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital after being stabbed by another man.
But he was pronounced dead this morning, said investigating officers.
They have appealed for anyone with information or anyone who was in the area of the North Strand between 10.15pm and 10.45pm last night to contact them. www.garda.ie
An incident room has been set up at Mountjoy Garda Station.
