Several thousand people have taken part in an anti-racism demonstration in Belfast city centre.
The march  was organised by the trade unions and Amnesty International and included groups from all the ethnic minorities in Northern Ireland.
The protest followed the outrage cuased by an Evangelical preacher in Belfast, Pastor James McConnell who described the Islamic faith as satanic.
Pastor McConnell was questioned by police about his remarks and apologised for any distress his remarks may have unwittingly caused.
A representative of the Muslim Community in Northern Ireland Dr Mazhar Khan said racial hate crime was growing and very little was being about it.
He said elected representatives had a role to play and had to be very careful in choosing their words.
