The DPP has dropped three out of four charges brought against a Dublin based garda who had been accused of harassing two women.
Donal Maguire (aged 38) with address an address at Millbrook Avenue, in Kilbarrack, Dublin, but now living in Bundoran, Co. Donegal, has not yet entered a plea in relation to the remaining allegation and was remanded on continuing bail.
The father-of-four appeared again at Dublin District Court where Judge Anthony Halpin was told that the prosecution was withdrawing three charges.
He is still accused of harassing one woman at North Great Clarence Street, in central Dublin, between February 1 and March 19, 2014.
Judge Halpin granted the prosecution more time to complete a book of evidence and ordered him to appear again on October 27 next.
The accused, who is currently suspended from duty, is now living with his mother in Bundoran and there has been a reduction in his pay.
Bail conditions state he must not have any contact with the complainant; he has to sign-on regularly at his local garda station, and he must stay out of Dublin city and county except for court appearances, pre-arranged consultations with his solicitor or for medical appointments.
