A 40-year-old Galway man has been charged with the murder of his brother, Adrian Folan, whose body was found in a quarry near Liscannor in Co Clare yesterday.
The 41-year-old had been missing since last week.
Declan Ó Cualain, with an address at Cuileán, An Cheathrú Rua, Co Galway, was brought before a special sitting of Galway District Court this evening.
Detective Sergeant Paudie O'Shea of Salthill Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
He told Judge Mary Fahy that he arrested Mr Ó Cualain at Mill Street Garda Station this evening and formally charged him.
He is charged with the murder of Adrian Folan at Lislorkin North, Liscannor, Co Clare, on 4 July.

Inspector Derek Gannon made an application on behalf of the State for the defendant to be remanded in custody.
There was no application for bail and Judge Fahy directed that Mr Ó Cualain be brought before Harristown District Court next Friday morning.

Defence solicitor Adrian MacLynn told the court his client was unemployed and on a back-to-work scheme.
Mr MacLynn told the Court that Mr Ó Cualain was on medication and Judge Fahy directed that he get whatever medical attention deemed necessary.
Mr Ó Cualain did not speak during the four-minute hearing.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court next Friday morning.
The family of Adrian Folan has appealed for privacy.
